Diarmuid Carter

Founder and Head of Production

Diarmuid has over twelve years of experience in the film industry.

Diarmuid worked as a journalist and English language teacher, before becoming the in-house Script Editor with the ELT department at Oxford University Press. Here he wrote scripts for many of the industry's biggest titles before moving into producing and directing. 

Diarmuid has a BA in Journalism and an MA in Film and has completed courses in scriptwriting, production and directing with the NFTS and METFILM.  

Emily Turvey

Founder and Head of Post-Production

Emily has been working in professional video production for ten years. 
 
She started her career by producing educational content for wildlife charities around the world, filming in Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon and Sierra Leone. Returning to the UK, she managed all video post-production for the ELT department at Oxford University Press, while continuing her own business as an illustrator and designer.  
 
Emily has a degree in Video Production from Coventry University. She is Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier Pro Certified and holds a PADI-certified diving and underwater filming licence. She really loves her dog Chadwick! 

Emma Yorke

Producer

Emma has been a passionate filmmaker for 7 years. Receiving an HND degree in Creative Media: Moving Image and a BA in Creative Arts and Design, she helped create “Powered by Plants” a short documentary on the benefits of plant-based diets In 2019 . Shortly afterwards she undertook the role of videographer and editor on the full-feature documentary “Africa to Britain’ for Desiblitz, which was shown across cinema chains across the UK. In 2020 she undertook the same role for their Covid-19 series to help support small Asian-run businesses across Birmingham. 

In her spare time, she enjoys creating motion graphics with After Effects, writing scripts, and producing and directing her own short films and documentaries. 

Laurence Hall

Videographer (freelance)

Laurence has over 16 years experience as a content creator specialising in short form educational videos and documentaries for organisations such as The Open University, WWF and TC-Helicon to name but a few. 
 
He was the co-director of Handshake Productions and is an active board director for Ffresh, the Student Media Festival of Wales. He is a business role model for the Welsh Government.
 
He has over eight years’ experience lecturing in Digital Media, Film production and New Media.

Adam Hale

Camera Operator (freelance)

Adam loves cameras and has been working with them for over twenty years, both as a photographer and cinematographer. 

He has filmed and produced content for corporate, educational, and broadcast partners, including University of Oxford, Virgin Experience Days, West Ham United, BBC Ideas, and The Francis Crick Institute. He has lectured in Film and Video and has worked as cinematographer on multiple award-winning short films. 

Adam holds a BA in Communications and loves his dog Tig.

Alan Kennedy

Video Editor (freelance)

Alan has over 10 years’ experience working in the media sector and currently works as a freelance videographer and video editor. 

With a background in art, graphic design and sound mixing, he has worked for a wide range of both private and corporate clients such as OUP, the Sunday World, the Belfast Telegraph and IKEA.

He studied Visual Communications in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and Music Technology and Sound Design in Sound Training College

Steve Longman

Sound Mixer (freelance)

Steve Longman has more than 30 years’ experience as a sound engineer. 

Starting as a location sound recordist, he went on to work as a dubbing mixer and then later became Technical Director at one of the largest UK post-production facilities outside of London. 

He has mixed thousands of hours of programmes, from corporate presentations and educational material to broadcast documentaries and adverts. 
 

Jake McBride

Animator and Motion Graphics Artist (freelance)

Jake has been involved in professional film and animation for six years. He started his freelance company, Animind Studio, in early 2018.

The first step on his professional path was at the age of 21, animating a lyric video seen by Brian May’s team, who soon commissioned him to work on a lyric video. Since then Jake worked as an animator and MoGraph artist on projects such as the Queen documentary The Show Must Go On, solo lyric animations for Roger Taylor, Queen animated music videos & promos, Continental Tyres/Tour de France, Ride London, Arriva Rail London, and many more national and international projects.

Jake has a first class degree in Film from Falmouth University, a strong working ethic passed down from his self-employed dad, and an unwavering passion for the great outdoors (and the great indoors, too)!


Dean O'Connor

Motion Graphics Designer

Dean has been a passionate motion graphics animator for ten years, and has been applying his talents professionally for the past two.

Dean graduated from the University of South Wales with a BA in Animation Production and Development, and has a wide variety of experience in his field including development of educational/explainer content, company logo animation, greenscreen and character animation. He has also worked on a BBC Children in Need funded educational animation for a local school.  

In his spare time, Dean enjoys experimenting in After Effects, tinkering with computer hardware, running, gaming and relaxing to some hard rock music!
